Tumbas Vineyards
Our Syrah vines were planted in 2000. The syrah is on 140R rootstock, Estrella clone. Our soil is well-drained, sloping from 1400 ft to 1200 ft, with a southern exposure. Wine made from this fruit is typically bold and full bodied. The color is very dark and rich. Our Viognier was planted in 2001. We have been very successful with wines from Legendre Cellars and Lavender Ridge. We farm softly, with a minimum of chemical additives. Fertilizer is the manure courtesy of our goats and horses in addition to cover cropping in the winter. Owner tended and hand harvested.
